Following many requests, we are pleased to inform you that the deadline for session proposal submissions is extended to 31 October 2022. By the end of November, proponents may be contacted for review of their proposals, to be resubmitted within December 2022.

The Congress Scientific Committee invites submission of session proposals for the 2024 IUFRO World Congress. In line with the spirit of the Congress title – Forests & Society Towards 2050 ‐ the Congress Scientific Committee is developing a program that will highlight the forest contributions to the UN 2030 Agenda and its sustainable development goals and beyond.

The Congress program will reflect the forest science community’s diverse contributions across the full range of natural and social science disciplines, with special emphasis on the themes and subthemes available at the Congress website Call for Session Proposals IUFRO World Congress 2024 

Agenda 2030
With focus on forest contribution to the 2030 Agenda, its sustainable development goals (SDG) and beyond, the IUFRO World Congress 2024 will help streamlining the forest research agendas, furthering dialogues and cross-sector cooperation, and promoting the multi-functionality of forests and their services.

Who may submit a session proposal?
All who share an interest in the future of forests, climate, the environment, societal development and forest-related science are invited to submit session proposals.

Deadline 31 October, 2022
The application period and deadline is now extended  until 31 October, 2022.

Proposals should be submitted in English, online at Call for Congress Session Proposals IUFRO World Congress 2024.
