Embrapa – Integrating Solutions to Meet Diverse Needs
The President’s Discussion at the IUFRO World Congress 2024 was a major highlight, focusing on how to translate scientific research into effective forest management to meet multiple societal objectives.
In today’s rapidly changing world, forest managers and policymakers face complex challenges, balancing diverse and often conflicting demands from stakeholders and society.
Erich Schaitza, researcher at Embrapa Forestry, shared his perspective: “We’ve shifted from being purely research-focused to becoming technological solution providers. This means addressing various issues like gender equality and biodiversity conservation, even in production contexts. At Embrapa, we integrate solutions for both agriculture and forestry to meet diverse needs.”
