IKEA Takes Global Lead on Sustainable Forest Management
Without wood, there is no IKEA. 60% of all its products come from forests, and the company makes a huge impact on forests worldwide.
To contribute to a sustainable future, IKEA has developed a Forest Positive Agenda, after consulting and engaging more than 8,000 stakeholders and consumers worldwide. The goal? To improve IKEA’s forest management AND encourage other forest managers to follow their lead.
On Tuesday, Ulf Johansson, Global Raw Material Manager at Inter IKEA, took the Innovation stage to discuss IKEA’s Forest Positive Agenda! He highlighted crucial insights from recent research, emphasizing the importance of forests and the 1.6 billion people who depend on them. “We can’t talk about sustainability without also including the people”, he said.
