ITTO Partnering for Sustainable Forestry

The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) World Congress 2024 proudly announces a strategic partnership with the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), uniting efforts towards sustainable forest management and conservation.

“Joining forces with IUFRO for the 2024 Congress is an exciting opportunity for ITTO as it offers a space to drive global and economic development in the tropical timber industry,” stated Mrs Sheam Satkuru, Executive Director at ITTO.

Fredrik Ingemarson, Chair of the Congress Organizing Committee, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration,

“ITTO’s expertise in tropical forestry will significantly enrich the Congress, broadening our perspective on sustainable forest management and strengthening our collective approach to global forestry challenges.”

This partnership promises to enhance the Congress’s agenda, focusing on sustainable forestry practices and their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sheam Satkuru will hold a presentation called “Innovations to maximize the contributions of tropical forests to sustainable development” on Thursday 27th at 15.30-15.45

ITTO will also participate as an exhibitor at the Congress.
