Towards 2050 – Knut Øistad, NIBIO

By 2050, drastic changes are expected through population growth, climate change, globalization and a growing world economy, thus putting tremendous pressure on forests and their governance.

This is one of many challenges facing all forest stakeholders. One of them is the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) who contribute to food security and safety, sustainable resource management, innovation and value creation through research and knowledge production within food, forestry and other biobased industries.

This is their view of the challenges ahead:
