Towards 2050 – Olof Hansson, Södra
By 2050, drastic changes are expected through population growth, climate change, globalization and a growing world economy, thus putting tremendous pressure on forests and their governance.
This is one of many challenges facing all forest stakeholders. One of them is Södra, a large forest industry group who create products and services for a global market and contribute to the growth of the Swedish economy. This is their view of the challenges ahead:
“The increasing outtake from the forests is a challenge. We need to find new ways to utilize our resources more efficient, and do more with the same outtake”, says Olof Hansson, Head of Research and Development, Södra Skog.
